Chris Barton serves as Chief Operating Officer at CYPFER, where he is responsible for translating the company’s global strategy into disciplined execution. With decades of experience leading operations and human capital functions across Fortune 100 organizations and high growth ventures, Chris brings a unique ability to scale teams, optimize performance, and drive operational excellence in complex environments.

Chris Barton is an intuitive, collaborative senior operations and human capital leader with deep experience spanning large enterprises to entrepreneurial organizations. He began his career at MBNA America, a $123B unsecured credit card lender, where he progressed through leadership roles in sales and operations, ultimately serving as SVP Operations and SVP Human Resources Strategies and Talent.

Prior to joining CYPFER, Chris served as Chief People Officer at Acima, a $2.5B subsidiary of Upbound Group. Providing human capital leadership for a workforce of more than 1,500 employees across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico, he drove significant operational efficiencies and strengthened organizational performance during a period of rapid transformation. Under his leadership, Acima was recognized three times as a Top Workplace.

Earlier in his career, Chris served as VP of HR and Administration at PPR Note Co and founded Barton Career Advisors, a consulting firm focused on leadership development and organizational effectiveness. His professional experiences span the manufacturing, financial services, healthcare, higher education, and non profit sectors, where he is known for building cohesive teams and leading meaningful organizational transformation.

Chris also spent over a decade as an Adjunct Faculty member at Villanova University, teaching and developing graduate level courses in Managerial Finance. He holds an MBA and BS from the Lerner College of Business at the University of Delaware.
